LETTER WRITING SET - CHIKA HAGASHI / LUMIERE

Letter stationery created in collaboration with artist Chika Higashi. Works including exclusive illustrations were carefully arranged into designs for casual use with attention to composition and layout. 

A set of letter writing paper and envelopes with artwork by Higashi printed on soft Shinkyokushi paper. Lumière, meaning ‘light’ in French, was inspired by Junichiro Tanizaki’s essay In Praise of Shadows. The envelope fits up to L/3R size photographs (89 x 127mm), so you can enclose cherished memories along with your words.

Higashi creates her works surrounded by nature at her home and atelier located at the foot of the Yatsugatake Mountains at an altitude of 1180m. Her work features whatever medium that catches her eye on her desk from coloured pencils and pens to acrylics and watercolours, and is characterised by a bold and colourful style.
