Pottery from the Momoyama period is also known as "Hikidashi Kuro" (drawer black) or "Tensho Kuro" (Tensho black) due to the firing method and the era in which it was fired. One of its defining features is its glossy, deep, jet-black glaze, which is so opaque that the color of the base material is not visible.
In order to create a Setoguro ware that can be used widely on the modern dining table, we used modern glaze mixtures and techniques rather than the same techniques as in the past to achieve a glossy, truly jet black color. Enjoy the contrast between the unique black-on-black tableware and the colorful ingredients.
A small plate that is indispensable on the Japanese dining table. It is slightly deep, so it is convenient for serving side dishes with a lot of liquid. It is also the perfect size for desserts such as cakes and fruits.
